I am Nicka Grimes and I am delighted to have you visit my 8th grade Georgia Studies page! This is my sixth year as an educator and fifth year teaching Social Studies. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from The University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia State University. I am also currently studying at Columbus State University for a Specialist in Education Leadership. It is a pleasure to be teaching and working hard to ensure each student gains a positive, enriching, and insightful education.
My courses information includes: 8th Grade Georgia Studies. Within my courses, students will learn about Georgia's beginning history, colonization, Native American culture, colonial period, American Revolution, Georgia's Governmental Foundation, Civil War and Reconstruction, Role of local and state government, political, social and economic changes in Georgia between 1877-1918, WWI, Depression and world conflict (how it impacted Georgia), Civil Rights Movement, Roaring 20s, WWII, Modern Georgia and Personal Finance.
